In 2000, there were a total of 13,596 crashes in Allen County, of which 25 were fatal crashes, causing 27 fatalities. Twenty-two percent, or 2,925, of the crashes caused personal injuries, and the total cost of all these crashes in Allen County was over $130 million. One third of the fatalities, or 9, were due to alcohol-related crashes. Eight percent of the Personal Injury crashes were due to alcohol.
