What's New...

  • While substantiated child abuse remained relatively stable over the last three years, unsubstantiated cases have almost doubled in the last three years. Even though a case may be labeled unsubstantiated, this is not the same as a "false report" since studies have shown that many of these individuals have need of protective services in the future and that preventative services should be available to both unsubstantiated and substantiated cases

  • Child neglect also experienced an increase in unsubstantiated cases, while substantiated neglect has been slowly declining since SFY2002.

  • Juvenile arrests have continued their downward trend, both in Part I and Part II arrests.
